A new service from Mippin makes it easy to get internet content right on your mobile phone. With Mippin, the latest content from thousands of websites is optimized into the perfect format for mobile phone screens and delivered right to you. With this service, you can get the most up-to-date news, blogs, as well as other business and lifestyle information. The service provides one simple entry box which lets you search for information or you can type in an Internet address. Alternately, you can use Mippin's "browsing categories" to find content. When you visit a website from your phone, Mippin automatically gathers the latest content and delivers it in the best format for your phone's screen size. It works for websites listed in the Mippin directory and those you visit by entering a website address in the Mippin entry box. To use Mippin, there is no software to download to the phone - it works with your phone's built-in browser.

To get started, you just go to http://mippin.com on your phone. The service is free, and, after registration, as you use and explore Mippin, a personalized MyMippin section will be added to the Mippin homepage. So, recently I convinced my Mother to use Live Messenger as a means of keeping in touch. She was BLOWN AWAY by this fascinating technology and even MORE excited when she learned about emoticons. These are things that I'm sure both you and I take for granted as common knowledge. I started wondering if I was the uncommon one and maybe most people aren't aware of the wonders of the internet. So I set out on a mission to find out how much the average person walking the street knows about these curious machines known as "computers". The results are incredible...

Gleemax intends to be the home for gamers on the web – a combination of social networking, on-line gaming and game related content. Have you ever seen the Truman Show with Jim Carey? Well Justin is the real life version of that except he agreed to it and made it happen all on his own! Justin decided one morning to attach a camera to his head and stream his world live over the internet for all the world to see. I ran into him and found myself being broadcast as I was filming him. It was very meta, check it out.

Imagine (if you will) a visionary, a leader, a true artist with his sights on the future. Well, this is Josh Harris. Known as the Warhol of webcasting, his latest creation allows anyone on the net to be a director of their own internet show. I was fortunate enough to work with Josh in my fledgling years of internet broadcasting back at Pseudo in the N.Y.C. This booth at TechFest was sooooo much fun. It made me want to run home and get on video messenger with my friends. They've taken some advanced digital effect concepts and simplified them so that we can use them in our every day internet life. You can add special effects to your videos, do it live, and fix problems you might have had while shooting. Try it for yourself!

*Quick Post* This is a quick post on a very interesting experience, a video will follow with more detail...

This morning at Le Web 3 we had a special guest speaker. Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres spoke of his belief for how the Internet and modern science will cause the world to change more successfully than Governments and armies. I found his vision of how we, the Internet community can succeed in making a positive change to the world, inspiring.

He spoke to a full hall of 1000 bloggers representing 60 million readers. When asked from the audience what we might do directly to make this happen he said we should get 60 billion readers :-)

Whatever your particular politics or religious beliefs, the breadth of insight and depth of thinking was obvious as Mr Peres spoke. The vision he laid out was one where the openness and access of the Internet, that has no boundaries, can educate and overcome the prejudices recorded in history.

He spoke how American philanthropy and the Chinese Government's new policy of harmony coupled with the two-way communications of the Internet, will enable Africa to evolve and become a powerful contributor to the world released from its current poverty and corruption. The inclusion of China in such a statement raised a few eyebrows!

To think that such a global politician should place such hope and expectation on us the blogging and Internet community is amazing, motivating and scary. I think his speech has changed me and my fellow bloggers here at Le Web 3. This afternoon, we have a French presidential candidate speaking to us. Mr Peres will be a big act to follow.

Maybe you have and maybe you haven't. I was reading this article on cnn and it really got me thinking about how different life is now then it was ten years ago. I, personally have never gone online in search of romance but I know many people who have and it seems to have worked for them. Now, there is a new term floating around called "Mobile Romance". No, you don't make-out with your phone but you instead post your dating profile online and you will automatically receive a text-message on a GPS enabled phone when a match is nearby. This has already been working in China. And there are similar programs like Dodgeball already here in the U.S. It got me thinking, what's next for online dating?

Web Reaches 100 Million Sites!

Wow! The big 100 was reached sometime this September according to Netscraft, an internet monitoring company. Compare that to roughly 18,000 in August of 1995. Obviously the ability to create sites easily and make money from the web has an enormous impact on the growth. Only half of those are actually active sites. I could go on and on about the reasons why but we all get it. After all, this is our world.

Would you Sell?

Lately tech news has been filled with who is buying who and who is worth how much. Craig Newmark of Craig's list says he has no plans on selling even though he could get millions. You tube just sold to Google for a billion plus. Kevin Rose had the business weekly article stating he is worth about sixty million thanks to DIGG. Now, those that have created these sites are obviously passionate about what they do and what they have created. I think to myself would I sell? What would be enough to sell? Obviously there are many factors like trends, potential worth, yada yada. But I gotta tell ya, absolutely I would sell. To have the ability to retire and travel the world and sleep in every single day. :) The question is ...how much is enough?

The Adventures of Constipated Johnson!

For a few years now I have been a huge fan of artist Ted Bracewell. He's designed some personal comics for me over the years and his short animated films are some of the best around. He's clever, creative and as you will see, really funny. To make constipated Johnson he used mostly adobe products like Photoshop, after effects and premiere. He's been an integral part of the 10 community and he's a great example of somebody who uses the power of the internet and technology to market and showcase their talents.

Net Neutrality!

So here is a subject that affects all of us. Net Neutrality. Wikepedia has some good information about the history of the subject as well. This is really a huge issue for our generation and those younger of course. The Internet has absolutely changed the way we live. In both positive ways and I would say negative ways. Network neutrality is supported widely by large Internet content companies and opposed by large communication carriers. This is an issue that has sort of taken a back seat lately to who is buying who but I think its a topic that is worth talking about. And you guys have been great about expressing your opinions...so is this as big of a deal to you guys as it is to me?
