Microsoft has launched a new career site for those interested in working for the company.  You can browse jobs by country or region and interests.  A few of us here at Microsoft were profiled to help launch the site and generate interest.  I think I have the single coolest job here at Microsoft but maybe everybody feels that way.  Check out the Career Site if you are interested.  Did I mention we get free Starbucks coffee?  That helps.  Here's a snapshot of my path to Microsoft.

Today, Microsoft officially launched the Urban Challenge, sponsored by KIA Motors.  KIA's sponsorship has taken RoboChamps to a brand new level - both in realism and in terms of prizes. KIA has been very generous with models of their cars and buildings. This enables us to provide additional realism in the environment, as you will have the opportunity to choose one of 5 robot cars based on real KIA models. You'll program these cars to navigate a course through a large city, that comes complete with other moving cars, video billboards and working traffic lights. You car is loaded up with a number of sensors to help you achieve your goal, including multiple cameras, a laser rangefinder, bumpers, and a GPS unit.[Click to read the full post ]

Microsoft’s Professional Developers Conference 2008 is hitting the Los Angeles scene late October (27-30) and we got our best ad-agency guys and gals together to figure out how best to get the word out.

Why? Well, PDC is the place where Developers and Architects can network with their peers, get their questions answered by the Microsofties who are writing the code during Ask-The-Experts and take home all the bits on a 160 GB hard drive-including pre-Beta Windows 7!

Yeah, that’s PDC.

This is an inside look at one of our early brainstorming sessions… let’s just say things got a little out of hand.

But hey, make sure you don’t let it pass you by, register for PDC… NOW, oh did I mention the student discount?!

And don’t forget to be friends with 4 Softies and a Pizza Guyor be a fan!
