There's more to Live Search (www.live.com) than meets the eye... kind of like those magical robots that transform into cars and fighter jets... what are they called again....? I digress...

Alexandra Mickel from the Live Search team dropped by the Channel 10 studios the other day to show us some of the new and improved features in Live Search including farecastvideo browse and cashback.

If you haven't used Live Search yet I highly recommend taking it for a spin. Not only will it help you find stuff on the internet but with farecast and cashback you can very easily save, and even earn, real money!

Live Search: http://www.live.com

Example links from the video (Try them out!)

- Image Search: Bellagio Las Vegas
- Farecast: Flights from SEA to LAS
- Product Search: Canon Digital Camera

PS: Live search rox0rz.
Holy s**t, great work. Thats more then awesome. Keep going with your work, but please make this easier availible for other countries then the usa. One feature i'm looking for is to personalize the live-search. But again, great work. From this moment live.com is my new startpage! regards Manuel

Are these features only available in United States? Why not for other countries?

@idsinghbhambra cashback is a program for the United States only (at the moment) but bear in mind that the Live Search team are still rolling these features out,.. so not everything you saw in the video will necessarily be available today.

What country are you accessing Live Search from?
this is a application Silverlight that use API Live Search http://search.frameworkla.net

greetings,

I'm a big Microsoft fan, love XBox, hate Apple, own a Zune, etc.  It drives me nuts when I have to use a third party program because one from MS won't do.  All these years and Live still can't do the following very simple things that Google does:

Type in an area code in the search box, hit search.  Google's works and Live's doesn't
Type in a City, State or an address in the search box and hit search.  Again, Google's works and Live's doesn't.

I've been waiting for years for you to fix just those 2 things.
@otherwise what results are you expecting from searching for an area code or address that you aren't getting?
